about me
Hi, my name is Peter Lucansky and I have been living and working in Bratislava, Slovakia for many years. I was born in Kosice (east of Slovakia).
In years 1990 and 1994 I studied at a grammar school in Kosice. In year 1999 I finished the studies at Technical University of Kosice, sub-faculty of electronics and multimedia telecommunications. After I moved to Bratislava, I started my professional career in a telecommunication company – Orange Slovakia, where I still work.
cycling
I have been cycling since 1990, just biking since 1992. My first mountain bike was stolen, so the next one I decided to assemble myself instead of buying a new one from a shop (like "all-in-one" package).
I have ridden many mountain bikes, especially hardtails (HT). These include Peugeot, Diamond Back, KHS, Author, Specialized and now TREK and Litespeed.
All of them (except the first one) I have assembled by myself from scratch. I have selected my bike components very carefully, with an attention to getting the best quality, design and to create something unique.
Over the years I have taken part in many cross-country (XC) competitions, including the Slovak MTB XC Cup and local XC races.
Infrequently I have taken part in international competitions in the Czech Republik, Poland and Hungary. From time to time I sucessfully finished in the Top 20.
Around years 2003-2004 I took place in my last competitions before taking early retirement. Surprisingly, I finished my last two races in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
I feel I went out on a high.
| Date | Race Event | Country | Place |
| September 20th 2003 | Kaktus Bike Marathon | Slovakia | 2nd |
| September 27th 2004 | Kaktus Bike Marathon | Slovakia | 3rd |
An independent chapter of my cycling life has been mountain bike marathons.
I found myself drawn towards these races. I have gained a great deal of experience of them. I believe I will carry on mountain bike marathons well into the future.
Nowadays I ride for my pleasure. I feel free and independent...and this is the most important thing, isn`t it?
music
I like dance music. I prefer listening electronic dance music, especially progressive, progressive house and trance.
On the other hand, when I feel myself stressful, I relax with electronic/new-romantic pop music of 80`s and 90`s or with dance sets prepared by slovak`s Radio SiTy Bratislava.
My favourite artists on an international dance scene are DJs Markus Schulz (Global DJ Broadcast) and Paul Van Dyk. I like the dance trance sets they create and play.
I spend the time by listening UK`s BBC Radio 1 and Pete Tong`s Essential Mix Show.
Well, I listen slovak dance scene, too. DJs Milan Lieskovsky (Progress Your Mind project) and Tomas Haverlik play really good dance progressive sets. I enjoy them!
